September
3rd,
2011
Kathy
Saffer:
I
have
gone
to
the
Psalms
this
week.
The
last
day
of
August
was
chapters
31,
61,
91
and
121.
I
was
pretty
blessed
by
Psalms
91
and
121
as
well.
Psalms
91:14-16
Because
he
hath
set
his
love
upon
me,
therefore
will
I
deliver
him:
I
will
set
him
on
high,
because
he
hath
known
my
name.
15
He
shall
call
upon
me,
and
I
will
answer
him:
I
will
be
with
him
in
trouble;
I
will
deliver
him,
and
honor
him.
16
With
long
life
will
I
satisfy
him,
and
show
him
my
salvation.
What
an
amazing
bunch
of
promises.
He
knows
me.
Because
He
has
loved
me
and
I
have
loved
Him.
He
knows
my
every
thought
and
He
hears
me
when
I
pray.
He's
been
with
me
in
times
of
trouble.
He's
going
to
rescue
me
and
honor
me
and
bless
me
with
long
life.
What
a
blessing.
Psalms
121:1-2
A
Song
of
degrees.
I
will
lift
up
mine
eyes
unto
the
hills,
from
whence
cometh
my
help.
2
My
help
cometh
from
the
LORD,
which
made
heaven
and
earth.
Psalms
121:5
The
LORD
is
thy
keeper:
the
LORD
is
thy
shade
upon
thy
right
hand.
Psalms
121:7-8
The
LORD
shall
preserve
thee
from
all
evil:
he
shall
preserve
thy
soul.
8
The
LORD
shall
preserve
thy
going
out
and
thy
coming
in
from
this
time
forth,
and
even
for
evermore.
The
Lord
is
my
keeper
and
I
don't
need
to
be
afraid.
It's
just
an
amazing
reminder
of
who
God
is
in
my
life
and
what
He's
done
for
me.
Russ
Saffer:
I
was
impressed
with
Romans
12:21.
Romans
12:21
KJV
Be
not
overcome
of
evil,
but
overcome
evil
with
good.
In
the
NIV
it
says
"Do
not
be
overcome
by
evil,
but
overcome
evil
with
good."
In
the
Amplified
it
says,
"Do
not
let
yourself
be
overcome
by
evil,
but
overcome
(master)
evil
with
good."
In
The
Message
it
says,
"Don't
let
evil
get
the
best
of
you;
get
the
best
of
evil
by
doing
good."
In
the
New
Living
Translation
it
says,
"Don’t
let
evil
conquer
you,
but
conquer
evil
by
doing
good."
So
I
looked
up
the
word
"overcome"
because
it
shows
up
twice
in
that
verse.
It
means
to
literally
or
figuratively
subdue.
To
conquer
and
gaining
the
victory.
Evil
means
that
which
is
worthless.
It's
real
value
is
worth
nothing.
It's
depraved
and
injurious.
Good
in
that
passage
says
that
it's
the
primary
word
good
in
any
sense,
benefit,
good,
well
and
has
intrinsic
value
and
has
real
worth.
I
was
impressed
with
the
verses
just
before
that.
It
actually
tells
us
some
keys
of
how
to
overcome
evil.
Some
real
practical
things.
Romans
12:17-20
Recompense
to
no
man
evil
for
evil.
Provide
things
honest
in
the
sight
of
all
men.
18
If
it
be
possible,
as
much
as
lieth
in
you,
live
peaceably
with
all
men.
19
Dearly
beloved,
avenge
not
yourselves,
but
rather
give
place
unto
wrath:
for
it
is
written,
Vengeance
is
mine;
I
will
repay,
saith
the
Lord.
20
Therefore
if
thine
enemy
hunger,
feed
him;
if
he
thirst,
give
him
drink:
for
in
so
doing
thou
shalt
heap
coals
of
fire
on
his
head.
It
tells
us
how
to
overcome
evil
and
unleash
good.
I
don't
know
where
I
was
this
week,
but
I
came
across
this
little
saying.
To
do
good
to
those
who
do
good
to
me
is
natural.
To
do
evil
to
those
who
do
evil
to
me
is
human.
That's
what
our
sinful
nature
does.
To
do
evil
to
those
who
do
good
to
me
is
devilish,
demonic.
To
do
good
to
those
who
do
evil
to
me
is
Christian.
Matthew
5:16
Let
your
light
so
shine
before
men,
that
they
may
see
your
good
works,
and
glorify
your
Father
which
is
in
heaven.
Jon
Haar:
For
weeks
now
there
has
been
a
resounding
theme
between
church,
sunday
school
and
work.
Acts
3:6
Then
Peter
said,
Silver
and
gold
have
I
none;
but
such
as
I
have
give
I
thee:
In
the
name
of
Jesus
Christ
of
Nazareth
rise
up
and
walk.
In
the
past
I'd
always
looked
at
that
as
Peter
and
John
finally
realizing
they
could
rise
up
in
their
faith
and
do
those
miracles.
What
has
really
come
home
to
me
is
not
that,
but
the
boldness
with
which
they
do
this.
They're
going
somewhere
on
purpose
-
to
the
synagogue
to
pray.
It's
not
get
up
if
you
feel
like
it.
It's
GET
UP!
It
ties
into
the
great
commission.
What
am
I
doing
to
go
out
and
share
my
faith.
Am
I
at
the
point
of
Peter
and
John.
No,
but
can
I
get
there.
YES.
Do
I
have
the
faith
to
have
the
boldness.
It's
something
that's
been
weighing
on
me
these
last
few
weeks
and
messages
are
finally
driving
it
home.
God
through
the
Holy
Spirit
is
finally
getting
it
into
me.
I
didn't
say
go
forth
and
preach
to
all
nations
if
you
want
to.
I
said
go
do
it!
So,
now
it's
a
matter
of
surrendering
to
it.
So
the
question
is
what
am
I
going
to
do
next.
Bev:
Whatever
it
is
don't
wait.
When
you
feel
the
Lord
prompting
you
do
it
now.
We've
heard
that
many
times
recently.
If
God's
saying
something
to
you,
DO
IT!
Heather
Haar:
I'm
the
president
of
our
church's
ladies
fellowship
this
year.
We
had
a
meeting
last
Saturday
night
and
we're
preparing
for
the
coming
year.
I
watched
these
ladies
walk
into
my
house
and
I
watched
our
girls
run
up
and
give
each
of
them
a
hug.
It
touched
my
heart
because
we
don't
see
that
so
much
these
days.
I
thanked
them
for
being
a
blessing
in
my
children's'
lives.
When
you
feel
like
you're
not
making
a
difference
remember
the
kids
who've
run
up
to
you,
whose
lives
you've
touched.
Ephesians
2:8-10
For
by
grace
are
ye
saved
through
faith;
and
that
not
of
yourselves:
it
is
the
gift
of
God:
9
Not
of
works,
lest
any
man
should
boast.
10
For
we
are
his
workmanship,
created
in
Christ
Jesus
unto
good
works,
which
God
hath
before
ordained
that
we
should
walk
in
them.
A
wonderful
thing
about
women
is
that
many
have
a
"servants
heart"--willing
to
sacrifice
time,
money,
their
hearts
and
talents
to
meet
the
needs
of
others.
Without
the
love
of
God
in
our
hearts,
we
would
not
be
willing/able
to
be
obedient
to
the
will
of
God,
or
to
meet
the
needs
of
those
around
us.
Often,
in
doing
so,
the
blessing
we
receive
in
return
is
overwhelming!
To
stand
in
the
gap
between
God's
will
and
the
hurt/need
of
someone
in
the
world,
is
the
most
fulfilling
and
wonderful
place
to
be,
and
to
be
the
honored
one
to
complete
a
work
for
the
Lord
is
a
miracle
of
God!
It's
humbling
to
be
the
person
who
has
been
used
by
God
to
touch
a
life.
He
can
take
us
in
our
brokenness
and
still
use
us
to
touch
a
life.
Every
time
I
come
back
from
singing
Jon
has
to
take
my
hand
and
many
don't
know
how
nervous
I
am.
They
don't
see
my
knees
shaking
behind
the
pulpit,
but
it's
the
amazing
privilege
to
be
used
by
God
to
touch
people's
lives.
Beverly
Trupp:
There's
been
a
lot
this
week
and
it's
only
Saturday.
There's
been
some
neat
things
that
happened
this
week.
It
started
off
Monday
morning
and
the
first
thing
that
happened
was
a
person
called
who
was
stranded
here
and
needed
a
ride
to
Denver.
She'd
been
taken
off
the
bus
to
go
to
the
hospital
and
to
catch
the
bus
again
I
needed
to
take
her
to
Denver.
I
was
able
to
minister
some
to
her
and
hand
her
off
to
some
of
our
friends
in
Denver.
Next,
for
the
past
few
years
I
have
not
felt
well.
Not
really
sick,
but
not
well.
I
was
working
outside
and
started
to
feel
terrible.
I
came
in
and
sat
down
in
front
of
the
fan
on
the
couch
and
cried
out
to
the
Lord.
I
told
Him
I
didn't
want
to
be
sick.
He's
given
me
things
to
do
and
I
needed
to
feel
well
enough
to
do
them.
The
Lord
delivered
me
right
there
on
the
couch
from
that
spirit
of
infirmity.
That
song,
I
am
Your
beloved
just
kept
going
over
and
over
again
through
my
mind.
He
really
loves
me.
Colossians
3:11-12
Where
there
is
neither
Greek
nor
Jew,
circumcision
nor
uncircumcision,
Barbarian,
Scythian,
bond
nor
free:
but
Christ
is
all,
and
in
all.
12
Put
on
therefore,
as
the
elect
of
God,
holy
and
beloved,
bowels
of
mercies,
kindness,
humbleness
of
mind,
meekness,
longsuffering;
The
words
that
jumped
out
that
we
are
"well
beloved
by
God!"
Jason
talked
on
Wednesday
about
how
we
see
God
and
then
we
talked
about
how
God
see
us.
He
sees
us
as
children.
His
beloved
children.
I
thought
about
the
first
time
I
saw
each
one
of
my
babies
when
they
were
born.
There
is
that
emotion
that
just
floods
you
the
first
time
you
see
them.
I
honestly
believe
that
is
the
way
the
Lord
feels
about
us
and
much
more.
When
you
think
that
He
gave
us
His
Son
that
one
of
us
might
live,
that
all
of
us
might
live.
We
are
truly
His
beloved.
I
think
we
need
to
be
reminded
of
that
as
well.
Scripture
tells
us
our
very
best
is
filthy
rags
in
His
presence
and
yet
because
of
Jesus
we
can
come
before
the
Father,
clothed
in
His
righteousness.
We
can
commune
with
God
and
know
Him
in
an
intimate
way
that
we
never
imagined.
I
know
when
I
started
this
journey
I
had
no
idea
it
could
be
this
way.
August
27th,
2011
Teresa
Willis:
What
I
saw
tonight
while
we
were
singing
it
just
really
came
to
me
how
other
people
in
other
countries
must
have
to
worship
in
their
homes
or
services
like
this
because
they're
not
allowed
to
worship.
I
just
wondered
how
long
it
would
be
until
we
here
in
the
US
will
worship
in
homes
like
this,
not
because
we
want
to,
but
because
we
have
to.
I
think
that
day
will
come
eventually,
but
no
matter
what
we
will
have
the
joy
of
the
Lord
and
we
WILL
worship
Him.
We
will
make
a
way
to
worship
Him
together
in
spite
of
what
the
government
may
say
to
do.
Beverly
Trupp:
Well
I
have
been
for
the
last
four
weeks
watching
Joyce
Meyer's
called
boot
camp.
It's
about
going
back
to
the
basics.
This
week
was
all
about
making
right
choices,
using
wisdom.
She
talked
about
how
to
have
peace
just
by
reading
the
word
and
seeing
what
God
says
about
peace.
He
says
peace
I
leave
with
you.
When
we
ask
Jesus
into
our
hearts
and
lives,
everything
He
is
is
brought
into
us.
We
have
His
peace
inside,
but
we
squelch
it
with
our
worries,
doubts
and
fears.
She
talked
about
allowing
that
peace
that's
already
there
to
fill
us
up,
letting
it
bubble
up
in
our
circumstances.
She
also
talked
about
when
the
Lord
is
convicting
us
of
something
in
our
life,
we
shouldn't
wait.
We
should
act
on
it
right
them.
When
He's
giving
it
to
us,
right
then
is
when
HE's
giving
our
enemy
over
to
us.
Deuteronomy
7:1-2
When
the
LORD
thy
God
shall
bring
thee
into
the
land
whither
thou
goest
to
possess
it,
and
hath
cast
out
many
nations
before
thee,
the
Hittites,
and
the
Girgashites,
and
the
Amorites,
and
the
Canaanites,
and
the
Perizzites,
and
the
Hivites,
and
the
Jebusites,
seven
nations
greater
and
mightier
than
thou;
2
And
when
the
LORD
thy
God
shall
deliver
them
before
thee;
thou
shalt
smite
them,
and
utterly
destroy
them;
thou
shalt
make
no
covenant
with
them,
nor
shew
mercy
unto
them:
If
it's
an
area
God
is
dealing
with
in
our
life
we
need
to
get
rid
of
it
right
then.
Show
no
mercy.
Repent
and
make
that
180
turn
from
it.
In
God's
timing
it
will
have
an
anointing
on
it,
cause
a
flow
and
make
it
easy.
He
will
give
our
enemy,
whatever
it
is,
attitude
or
whatever,
over
to
us.
Don't
flirt
around
with
it.
Don't
make
excuses
for
it.
Just
change!
We
do
that
by
prayer
because
we
cannot
change
ourselves.
God
I
need
you
to
change
this
in
me
and
I
cannot
change
myself.
All
of
James
1
speaks
to
this.
I
know
this
is
true
because
I've
tried
it
and
I've
lived
it.
James
1:5
If
any
of
you
lack
wisdom,
let
him
ask
of
God,
that
giveth
to
all
men
liberally,
and
upbraideth
not;
and
it
shall
be
given
him.
Kathy
Saffer:
I
finally
finished
Isaiah
this
week.
Isaiah
66:1-2
Thus
saith
the
LORD,
The
heaven
is
my
throne,
and
the
earth
is
my
footstool:
where
is
the
house
that
ye
build
unto
me?
and
where
is
the
place
of
my
rest?
2
For
all
those
things
hath
mine
hand
made,
and
all
those
things
have
been,
saith
the
LORD:
but
to
this
man
will
I
look,
even
to
him
that
is
poor
and
of
a
contrite
spirit,
and
trembleth
at
my
word.
It
just
struck
me
that
the
Lord
looks
to
the
one
who
is
humble
and
contrite
of
spirit
who
trembles
at
His
word.
I
looked
up
humble
which
means
having
or
showing
a
consciousness
of
ones
defects
or
shortcomings,
not
proud,
self-assertive
or
modest.
Tremble
is
to
shake
excitedly.
Contrite
means
to
be
ground
to
peaces,
worn
out.
It
just
struck
me
that
God
looks
to
that
kind
of
person,
the
one
who
is
ground
up
and
worn,
aware
of
my
failures,
He
welcomes
me
with
the
most
welcome
arms.
I
praised
God
for
welcoming
me
and
responding
that
way
to
me.
He
lavishes
me
daily
with
His
goodness!
I
was
just
so
overwhelmed
by
Him.
He's
just
such
a
giver
and
He
gives
and
gives
and
gives.
The
verse
came
to
mind
during
worship.
He
that
began
a
good
thing
in
you
is
faithful
to
complete
it.
He's
so
faithful
and
patient
to
His
plans
and
purposes,
working
them
out
in
my
life.
A
WOW
moment
every
day!
Russ Saffer:
I
got
up
on
Wednesday
morning
to
go
walk
and
just
before
my
hit
the
floor
a
phrase
resounded
in
my
spirit
and
replayed
over
and
over
again.
Condescend
to
men
of
low
estate.
I
looked
it
up
when
I
got
home.
Romans
12:16
Be
of
the
same
mind
one
toward
another.
Mind
not
high
things,
but
condescend
to
men
of
low
estate.
Be
not
wise
in
your
own
conceits.
In
the
amplified
it
says:
"Having
gifts
(faculties,
talents,
qualities)
that
differ
according
to
the
grace
given
us,
let
us
use
them:
[He
whose
gift
is]
prophecy,
[let
him
prophesy]
according
to
the
proportion
of
his
faith."
In
the
message
it
says:
"So
since
we
find
ourselves
fashioned
into
all
these
excellently
formed
and
marvelously
functioning
parts
in
Christ's
body,
let's
just
go
ahead
and
be
what
we
were
made
to
be,
without
enviously
or
pridefully
comparing
ourselves
with
each
other,
or
trying
to
be
something
we
aren't."
I
looked
up
condescend
and
Kathy
said
it
wasn't
a
good
thing,
but
Strong's
says
to
take
off
together,
that
is,
transport
with
(seduce,
passively
yield):
-
carry
(lead)
away
with,
condescend.
Webster's
says
to
let
oneself
down,
come
down
to
their
level.
Be
gracious
or
affable
to
inferiors.
The
synonym
means
to
stoop.
I
thought
of
how
Jesus
did
that
for
us.
He
was
God
which
is
big,
became
a
man
which
is
low
and
became
so
obedient
He
went
to
the
cross.
Low
means
depressed
in
situations.
I
work
with
people
who
are
disabled.
The
Lord
encouraged
me
to
get
down
with
them
on
their
level.
When
we
had
kids
Kathy
would
tell
me
that
I
need
to
get
down
on
the
kids'
level.
I
thought,
what
does
that
mean?
Even
when
I
was
on
my
knees
I
was
taller
than
them.
I
had
to
get
down
on
the
floor.
When
I
did
and
played
with
those
trucks,
next
thing
I
knew
I
had
a
two
year
old
on
my
back
giggling
and
laughing.
When
I
stand
up
I'm
a
giant
next
to
them.
Around
the
table
when
they're
in
their
high
chairs
we're
all
on
the
same
level.
We
can
talk
to
them
and
not
seem
like
giants
to
them.
That's
pretty
neat.
We've
got
to
put
the
word
in
simple,
simple
things.
They
don't
catch
concepts
very
easily
but
they
catch
attitudes,
spirit
and
actions
just
like
that.
It
speaks
to
them
100%.
To
try
to
explain
it
and
they
don't
get
it.
Bob
Willis:
I've
just
been
absorbing
everything
here.
Very
good
thoughts.
A
couple
of
you
touched
on
areas
that
the
Lord
has
been
working
on
me
here
lately.
One
of
them
is
that
I'm
a
little
bit
troubled
about
emphasis
on
self-esteem.
All
the
kids
going
through
school
that
they
have
to
have
good
self-esteem.
It
occurs
to
me
that
when
we
do
that,
everything
they
think,
do
and
are
is
good.
They
start
developing
that
attitude
so
they
never
get
to
the
point
Kathy
was
talking
about,
a
contrite
heart.
All
their
life
all
they've
heard
is
that
they're
good,
they're
ok.
The
don't
receive
the
guidance
they
need
from
the
Holy
Spirit.
This
has
crept
into
the
life
of
too
many
Christians
to
the
point
we're
no
longer
able
to
hear
what
the
Holy
Spirit
says.
We
find
a
way
to
justify
it,
make
it
ok
so
it
doesn't
hurt
us.
Somehow
we've
got
to
get
back
to
that
contrite
heart,
being
ground
up
so
it's
actually
painful
to
us.
Forget
self-esteem.
I
want
to
please
God.
That's
where
we
find
true
God
worth,
better
than
self-worth.
I
don't
even
know
how
He's...
I
can't
seem
to
express
it
yet.
I
see
it
in
the
church
in
so
many
people
and
it
hurts
me
and
I
wonder
if
I'm
the
same
way
and
I
just
don't
see
it
in
my
own
life.
Sometimes
it's
easier
to
see
things
in
other
people.
Sometimes
it's
easier
to
see
things
in
yourself.
I
want
that
contrite,
broken
heart.
I
want
to
be
sensitive
to
God
every
day.
The
Lord
says,
We
come
before
the
Lord
and
say
this
is
all
we
have
to
give.
The
Lord
in
turns
says
I
give
you
all!
Not
all
I
have
to
give,
but
everything
you
need
to
be
strong
when
you
are
weak.
I
give
you
all.
I
give
you
Jesus.
